Overview
I led the redesign of a Spend Management platform to improve usability, meet accessibility standards, and align the product with a design system that wasn't built with our product in mind. I went from solo designer at at fintech startup, to collaborating with legacy product teams in a sprawling design org with dozens of new stakeholders.

The Challenge
Convert a multi-function debit-based product to a credit-based platform that seamlessly integrates with a major banking institution's brand and legacy architecture. All while scaling teams, establishing new partnerships, and discovering regulatory compliance.
The Solution
Research: Conducted stakeholder interviews, reviewed libraries of existing data, and designed new studies where gaps were identified. Ideation: Facilitated workshops with cross-functional teams to prioritize pain points and opportunities. Design: Flows and wireframes to get consensus, then detailed, end-to-end prototypes that were presented to stakeholders, and three rounds of usability testing with real users. Accessibility: Partnered with accessibility consultants to ensure WCAG 2.1 AA compliance. Collaboration: Worked closely with developers and engineers to optimize our workflows for smooth handoffs. Outcome: The redesign introduced a streamlined navigation system, improved table clarity, and implemented accessible design system components and patterns.
The Result
Successful credit product launch that met stakeholder expectations and regulatory requirements. Increased task completion rate by 44% in usability testing. Contributed to the component library of the bank's design system used by all product teams.
