The Challenge
Convert a fintech startup's debit-based platform to a credit-based product that functioned seamlessly in the legacy systems, and complex design ecosystem, of a major banking institution. All issues were magnified and 95% of flows needed complete overhauls. Users struggled with fragmented workflows, inconsistent UI patterns, and accessibility barriers that created compliance risks.
The Solution
Research: Conducted stakeholder interviews, reviewed analytics, and studied existing design system. Ideation: Facilitated workshops with cross-functional teams to prioritize pain points and opportunities. Design: Created wireframes, and interactive end-to-end prototypes that were validated through three rounds of usability testing with real users. Accessibility: Partnered with accessibility consultants to ensure WCAG 2.1 AA compliance. Collaboration: Worked closely with developers and engineers to optimize our workflows for smooth handoffs. Outcome: The redesign introduced a streamlined navigation system, improved table clarity, and implemented accessible design system components and patterns.
The Result
Successful credit product launch that met stakeholder expectations and regulatory requirements. Increased task completion rate by 44% in usability testing. Contributed to the component library of the bank's design system used by all product teams.
